EU Japan Animation Workshop
European Participants for the EU-Japan Animation Workshop @ Expo Osaka 2025

Shaping the Future of Animation Together
European and Japanese animation have become global forces — the last two Oscar winners for Best Animated Feature came from these two regions. Today, their industries are increasingly collaborating, combining their strengths to produce internationally acclaimed films and series. In a rapidly evolving global market, EU-Japan cooperation represents a key opportunity for continued growth and innovation.
The World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan presents a unique occasion to showcase European animation on the global stage, encourage cross-cultural exchange, and foster new creative and business partnerships. As part of its presence at the Expo, the European Union will host a rich cultural programme from its dedicated pavilion.
One of the key events is the EU-Japan Animation Industry Workshop, taking place on-site at the Expo from 24–26 September 2025. This exclusive three-day workshop will bring together around 30 leading professionals from the European and Japanese animation sectors.
